the drifter
who is the drifter?
the drifter is that person who’s always half here, half somewhere else. they’re the kid staring out the window in class, the friend who takes the long way home just to be alone with their playlist and the night sky.
they overthink everything, replay conversations in their head, and disappear for a bit when life gets too loud. but quietly, they care way more than they’ll ever admit. when they finally let you in, it’s because they’ve already imagined you in their future.
in the world of space helmet, the drifter is the one caught between the digital daydream and real life — the person who has to decide whether to stay floating in the glow of the screen… or put the helmet down and step back to earth.
are you the drifter?
low-key test: if you relate to at least a few of these, you might be a drifter.
theme song — “space helmet”
this is the song the drifter has on repeat while they stare at their screen and wonder if they’re actually living, or just watching life from orbit.
a moment from their story
it’s 2:17 a.m. the room is dark except for the blue light of the monitor and a galaxy of tabs. the drifter scrolls past a hundred faces, but keeps coming back to one — the person on the other side of the screen who feels closer than anyone in the room.
they type “my dear, i love you”, then delete it. type it again. hover over the send button. instead, they open another window and start building a world where they don’t have to say goodbye. a world where you can live in the comets and never drift too far.
somewhere out there, earth is waiting. but for now, the stars are easier to talk to.
space helmet — character cards
the drifter is just card 01. i’m slowly building out a constellation of characters who live in the same universe — each one tied to a tiny piece of the story.
as more cards release, this page will turn into a hub with links to each character. think of it like collecting your own tiny crew for the journey.
